From Donuts to Figure Eights in GTA 5 with U4GM

Your first useful drift lesson isn't about speed. It's about catching the rear before it gets away from you. Whether you're browsing GTA 5 Accounts or practising with a car you already own, start in an empty parking lot. Turn into a small circle, feed in some power, then steer against the slide. Don't pin the throttle and hope. Ease off when the car rotates too far; add a little when it straightens. A few controlled circles will teach you more than repeatedly spinning across a busy junction.

Get the rear moving without rushing

Once you can hold that circle, try entering a corner. The easiest starting point is a brief lift off the accelerator, a turn towards the bend, then enough throttle to loosen the rear. Catch it early. If that feels awkward, a short handbrake tap can help start the rotation, but holding it usually costs too much speed. Save the Scandinavian flick for later: steer slightly away from the bend, then turn back into it. You've got enough to learn without throwing extra weight transfer into every attempt.

Approach at a speed you can manage.
Start the slide with one deliberate input.
Countersteer and adjust the throttle.

Pick a setup that suits the practice

Drift Tuning, Low Grip Tires, and ordinary tire setups offer different learning experiences. A compatible Drift Tuning car is a forgiving place to start because its handling is built around sliding. Low Grip Tires make traction easier to break, though careless acceleration can still send you around. Traditional rear wheel drive setups demand more patience. The Karin Futo and Annis Remus are worth considering, but don't keep swapping cars after every mistake. Stick with one long enough to recognise what its steering and throttle are doing.

Change parts with a reason

Without a dedicated drift setup, extra engine power can help you break traction. That doesn't mean every upgrade automatically improves control. Try stock brakes, compare suspension settings, and pay attention to whether a spoiler makes your chosen car harder to slide. Change one thing at a time. Otherwise, you won't know what helped. Where supported, the interaction menu offers a straightforward way to lower a Tuners vehicle's stance. Damage based lowering methods are less convenient for a repeatable practice routine.

Make the next corner part of the same slide

Figure eights are where separate drifts start becoming a flowing run. Let the car settle as you change direction, then bring the power back in. Smooth steering matters more than frantic corrections. If you've been browsing GTA 5 buy Money while planning another build, remember that spending won't teach this timing. Practise with what you've got. Raise the camera if it helps you see the next turn, and leave advanced throttle tricks until your basic transitions feel repeatable. Ten minutes can get you started; consistency takes longer.
